Sabtang Island

The province of Batanes has ten islands and only three of these are inhabited - Batan Island, Itbayat Island, and Sabtang Island.

My family and I spent half a day around Sabtang because boats leave Batan in the morning and usually heads back by noon because of the strong waves. We went to Chavayan Village where we saw the old stone houses, not just looking from the street but looking inside. It's amazing how the residents leave their houses unlocked the whole day they're working in the mountains. Truly a place for honest people.

The population in this island is so small that the village seems abandoned, especially with the empty houses. You wouldn't think there's much in this place because it seems boring because of the silence but if you really look at it, it's a beauty waiting to be discovered.

I guess that's because anything truly beautiful doesn't need to be loud to catch anyone's attention.
